Meet Brian

About Brian

Brian has owned and maintained antique and classic cars since he was 16 when he purchased a 1965 Mustang as his daily driver.

While attending the automotive restoration program at McPherson College, Brian spent his summers and winter breaks working for museums like Greenfield Village at The Henry Ford and the Petersen Museum and several small restoration shops. The primary focus of these experiences was to have the cars perform and look their best.

After graduation, Brian went to work for a well-renowned private collection focusing on coach-built cars from the 1920s through 60s. The owner enjoyed participating in both top tier Concours events and long-distance road rallys. This is where Brian cemented passions for both well-sorted tour cars and Concours judging.

In 2009, Brian returned to McPherson College where he serves as Senior Director of the Automotive Restoration program. While at McPherson, he has been a part of building the department into an internationally recognized program for teaching and preserving the skills needed to restore antique and collector vehicles. Brian was also instrumental in leading the student teams to restore a 1953 Mercedes-Benz 300 S Cabriolet and fulfilling the college’s goal of competing to win at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Throughout this time, Brian has been judging at national concours events like Audrain Newport, Boca Raton, Pebble Beach, Des Moines, Arizona, Santa Fe Concorso, Heritage Invitational, CCCA, Miami Motor Cavalcade, and the 21 Gun Salute in New Delhi, India. He has also served as a support mechanic on long distance rallies such as the Copperstate 1000, The Great Race, and the Colorado Grand.

Brian also enjoys using his own personal classics as much as possible, whether it is his 1926 Model T touring car that was his daily driver for many years, camping trips in a 1972 F-250 pickup originally owned by his grandparents or cruises in his wife’s C4 Corvette roadster.
